Barger is right, of course. If you want more power and reliability, a sport-tourer is where it's at. (Disagree about BMWs, though.) It takes a lot of money to get that kind of power out of a Harley. Actually, you never will, no matter what you do, V-Rods excepted.
But somehow a bunch of three-patched, bearded ne'er-do-wells on FJRs or ST1300s doesn't inspire the same image. And anyone who says that 1%ers don't care about image is naive
